Role Overview

As a Vehicle Electronics Technician – GPS & Telematics, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining GPS tracking and telematics devices in customer vehicles.

This role involves attending customer locations to perform installations, inspections, replacements, and maintenance tasks. Technicians will coordinate with the Customer Operations and Technical Support teams to ensure field jobs are completed efficiently and devices operate correctly on the KLOUDIP platform.

This position is suitable for technicians who are comfortable working in the field and traveling to customer locations.

Work Arrangement

Locations: Positions available islandwide across Sri Lanka

Work Mode: Field-based role – technicians attend customer sites directly from home

Engagement Types:

  • Full-time positions
  • Part-time / freelance technicians

      Key Responsibilities

      Device Installation

      Install GPS tracking and telematics devices in various vehicle types including:

      • Cars, Vans, Trucks, Buses, Three-wheelers, Motor bicycles
      • Commercial vehicles

      Ensure devices are installed securely and properly connected to vehicle electrical systems.

      Device Testing & Configuration

      • Test devices after installation
      • Verify GPS signal and connectivity with the KLOUDIP platform
      • Configure device parameters where required
      • Ensure accurate data reporting

      Maintenance & Troubleshooting

      • Diagnose and repair wiring or connectivity issues
      • Replace faulty telematics devices when required
      • Conduct inspections of previously installed equipment

      Field Service Coordination

      Work closely with the Customer Operations team to:

      • Receive and complete scheduled installation tasks
      • Attend customer locations for service visits
      • Update job completion status through the assigned system

      Documentation

      • Record installation and service details
      • Update job completion status in the system
      • Maintain accurate records of devices installed and serviced

      Candidate Profile

      Required

      • Experience working with vehicle electrical systems
      • Basic knowledge of automotive electronics
      • Ability to use electrical testing tools and installation equipment
      • Good troubleshooting skills
      • Valid motorcycle or driving license
      • Willingness to travel to customer locations

      Preferred

      • Experience installing GPS tracking devices or telematics equipment
      • Automotive technical certification (NVQ / Technical College)
      • Experience working with commercial vehicles or fleet installations
